I literally just finished Chain of Gold and I want to talk about it! It’s gonna be hella spoiler-y so if you still haven’t read the book come back and read this later.
Ok so 2 of my Crackpot theories were true! 1 that bracelet has mind control powers as does Grace. The bracelet makes James think he’s in “love” with Grace even though he actually loves Cordelia. I hope in book 2 the Merry thieves figure that out and break the bracelet into a bajillion pieces and clap back on Grace for being an ice queen. 2 there’s a fake relationship happening but it wasn’t like in Clare’s previous series. Cordelia and James get engaged at the end of the novel to a help Cordelia’s reputation after she tried to save James from being imprisoned after he BURNED DOWN BLACKTHORN MANOR FOR GRACE! They have this arrangement to be married for a year and then divorce. (Book 2 is probably going to be them still engaged and dealing with foolishness).
I applaud Cassie Clare for her ability to keep one upping herself with her cliff hangers. My jaw was on the floor after reading this book. Tatiana is the literal worst and she and a demon have a plan to do some bad stuff in book 2. I hope she and Grace get a healthy dose of Karma in book 3 (cuz I know they’ll still be foolish in book 2).
I am excited to see what Chain of ? (book 2) has in store and I can’t wait until 2021 I need it now! I need like a cover reveal or a release date or something. Come on Cassie! 
Things I want to happen in book 2, Cordelia to have a #bosslady moment, and for James to get the bracelet off somehow. One is probably not going to happen but the other might. A girl can dream. I also want to see what’s in store for Lucie cuz she has some ghostie powers. Lucie is my favorite character besides Anna so I’m invested in her arc.
